Dr Baret has had a distinguished career working in all areas of dentistry, but focusing on the related fields of Early Growth and Development, Dentofacial Orthopaedics and Orthodontics, Sleep Disordered Breathing and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders.
In 1981, he was a foundation member of the Australian Society for Occlusal Studies.
During the following years, while treating many TMJ patients, he recognised the need for Orofacial Orthopaedic treatment in the treatment of TMJ and Occlusal disorders, so in 1985, Dr Baret and three of his colleagues founded the Australasian Association of Orofacial Orthopaedics.
Since then, he has been a foundation member of the Australian Chapter of the American Equilibration Society, a member of the International Association for Orthodontics, and a foundation member of the Australian Chapter of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. Dr Baret is also an active member of the Australian Sleep Association.
He has served the profession and the community by serving on the council of the Australian Dental Association, teaching Doctors, Dentists and Chiropractors, and helping to expand the post-graduate education of his dental colleagues. His work was recognised by the American Biographical Institute who listed him in the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership, and later he was listed in the International Who’s Who in Medicine, by the International Biographical Centre (Cambridge, England).
In 2018, Dr Baret earned his Post Grad Diploma in Clinical Orthodontics. In 2020, Dr Baret cpompleted his PostGraduate Diploma course in Dental Sleep Medicine, as Dux of the class, and is continuing his advanced education, particularly in the areas of Dental Sleep Medicine and Early growth and Development of the face and upper airway.
