A provider is a member who holds a degree or its international equivalent in a medical / health related field from an accredited institution and who is registered either under AHPRA or Speech Pathology Australia. Provider members who are practicing Orofacial Myology are encouraged to take an active role in the affairs of the AAOM Inc. and are encouraged to complete the IAOM certification process.
Open to the following professionals:
- Dental Hygienist
- Oral Health Therapist
- Dentist
- Dental Therapist
- Speech Pathologists
who have completed a 28 hour Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy Training Course by a Certified Orofacial Myologist, recognised by the AAOM Inc. or the IAOM.
Membership is also open to Medical Practitioners, including Registered Nurses with an underpinning knowledge in dental growth and development, determined by the AAOM Executive Committee, who have completed a 28 hour Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy Training Course by a qualified Orofacial Myologist, recognised by the AAOM Inc or the IAOM.
Providers are required to fulfil 15 hours of Continuing Professional Developmental units every two years.
Provider membership in the AAOM is an annual fee of $180.
